Digital Marketing as a Classical Musician: Finding a Strategy

As we decide to turn our passion into our profession, we have to ask ourselves: How?
Digital marketing in a Classical Music career is a topic that doesn’t quite receive the attention that it should, especially when studying a degree at a Classical Music university. Because Classical Music has core values embedded in history and tradition, self marketing is oftentimes perceived as strange or, sometimes even, as dishonorable.

In my video today, we’re starting the discussion of how to be successful at Digital Marketing on the schedule of a Classical Musician. Whether your objection is that Social Media Marketing is too intimidating to learn, or you simply can’t find the time (or interest!) for it right now - there are ways to proactively source support and assistance in order to be a more independent artist.
I go more into detail about the differences between a social media manager as opposed to a social media strategist, and I also break the ice on the mindset of the infamous “Starving Artist”, and how creating this open dialogue with each other will ensure a bright, sustainable future of Classical Music for everyone!

How To Shift on the Violin for Beginners: The Basics

Happy Monday!
With this first video summary, I’m excited to share my latest “Learn with Me” -Youtube video with you. It is my take on an in-depth tutorial on How to Shift on the Violin. Since this is Part 1 of the Shifting Tutorials, I teach you about the very Basics of Shifting such as the definition of it, violin technique exercises and many more fundamental topics - perfect for beginner violinists!
If you haven’t watched it yet, you can do so here: https://youtu.be/yWZTzgrGils

In that video, I talk about the importance of mastering positions on the violin before even thinking about shifting between them.
Scales will be the foundation for your stability, and I strongly suggest you learn One-Position scales. Whilst I personally grew up with the Galamian Scale Book myself and continue to swear by its system, I have created a free, downloadable sheet music document that you can practice with - bonus tips included!
Be sure to check it out and leave a comment on the video - I’m planning to incorporate more downloads in the future and would love to hear any constructive feedback to optimize your learning experience! :-)
