On November 7th, Sumina was awarded the 2nd Prize as well as the Prize for the best sonata interpretation of Mozart's B-flat major sonata no. 26 at the International Louis Spohr Competition for Young Violinist in Weimar, Germany.

In October, Sumina performed amongst australian violinist Ray Chen and swiss pianist Louis Schwizgebel at the Schloss Elmau castle, a spa resort that regularly invites the world's most sought-after musicians to fit into their cultural program

. 

Sumina got accepted to attend the masterclass with violin legend Aaron Rosand at the Summit Music Festival in Purchase, New York.

In march, Sumina went on tour with her cellist sister Sayaka Selina and pianist friend Mathis Bereuter to perform solo as well as chamber music pieces.

In February 2016, Sumina was loaned a Giuseppe Marconcini violin, made in Ferrara, Italy in the 18th century. 

On February 12th 2016, Sumina was awarded second prize at the International Arthur Grumiaux Competition for Young Violinists in Namur, Belgium.

Sumina gave her china debut in the Shenzhen concert hall - the tour for young musicians led Sumina to stages in Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

Sumina gave her debut at the Munich Gasteig. Bayerischer Rundfunk made a live recording which will be broadcasted in January.

Sumina recorded G. Tartini's Devil's Trill Sonata in early 2015 - the CD is out now.

Thanks to Florian Leonhard Fine Violins, Sumina was offered the option to perform a number of concerts on valuable italian violins from makers such as Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe 'del Gesù' Guarneri.

Sumina gave 3 successful concerts with the New Zurich Orchestra (Neues Zürcher Orchester) in Switzerland.

At the age of 17, Sumina Studer gave her debut as a soloist in Singapore and Hong Kong.
